Job Description

The Account Manager manages a book of business, while acting with a high degree of independent discretion and decision-making. This successful candidate will provide the right total account solution for each customer by providing professional and courteous service. This position requires interaction with our carrier representatives, underwriters, business partners, and LHIG colleagues. Detail work is a major function of the job, and a faster than average pace is the norm. Additional responsibilities would include account retention that meets or exceeds expectations, account rounding and development of new business.

To perform this job successfully, the incumbent must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

Oversees the preparation and implementation of all transactions, paperwork, and internal processing for assigned accounts. This includes but is not limited to: taking inbound calls and requests, processing policy changes, answering billing questions, coverage questions, provide new quote proposals, and troubleshoot claims and billing issues. Acquires understanding of clients insurance needs and risk management objectives and compares insurance plans to determine best recommendation Develops new business from existing accounts and assigned leads, and contributes to meeting departmental production goals. Identifies and follows up on cross-selling opportunities when appropriate. Manages, organizes, and conducts client meeting when necessary. Documents conversation with clients and carrier representatives and updates all Lighthouse Group automated agency management systems when necessary. Ensures the accuracy of the data in the systems. Travels on company business as required. Prepares reports for management as needed. Supports, mentors, and trains lower level account managers as required. Attends industry related continuing education training and courses. Performs other duties and projects as required

Position Requirements:

    • Ability to work full time work schedule at Lighthouse Insurance Group facility(s).

Required Experience:

  • Proven experience in a customer service role.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Willing to get licensed in required lines and states.
  • Advanced professional designation highly desirable (e.g. AAI, ARM, CIC)

Preferred Experience:

  • Prefer 3 years of experience in an insurance account management role or other lead customer service role.
  • College degree preferred.
  • Currently licensed in required lines and states.
  • Advanced professional designation highly desirable (e.g. AAI, ARM, CIC)
